3 Days / 2 Nights Adventure to Wae Rebo Village, Flores

Wae Rebo is one of Flores Island’s most iconic cultural destinations — a remote traditional village high in the mountains, surrounded by lush rainforest and breathtaking views. This 3-day, 2-night itinerary allows travelers to experience an unforgettable journey through Flores’ landscapes, local culture, and authentic village life.

Day 1: Labuan Bajo → Melo → Lembor → Denge Village

Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Labuan Bajo or directly from the airport before noon. From there, you’ll travel by air-conditioned car through the scenic countryside to Melo Village, where a stunning panorama of Labuan Bajo welcomes you. The journey continues through Lembor, with its picturesque rice terraces, before lunch at a local restaurant surrounded by green fields.

After lunch, you’ll arrive at Villaggio di Denge, where you’ll stay overnight at a traditional homestay. This evening gives you the first real taste of rural Flores life and local hospitality.

Nota: The tour usually starts at 8 am, but an alternative midday start is possible if needed — with a slightly adjusted itinerary.

Day 2: Trekking to Wae Rebo Village

After breakfast at the homestay, your real adventure begins. Around 9 am, you’ll start a 2–3 hour hike through lush hills and forest to reach Villaggio Wae Rebo, a remote settlement perched high in the mountains.

Wae Rebo is famous for its traditional Case Mbaru Niang — cone-shaped wooden structures built by the local Manggarai people. Here, life remains deeply connected to tradition, community, and nature. You’ll spend the day exploring the village, walking among gardens, watching coffee processed by hand, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

Your overnight stay is in a traditional communal house, shared with other travelers. You’ll enjoy meals prepared by local hosts and get to experience authentic village life up close.

Day 3: Wae Rebo → Spiderweb Ricefield → Return to Labuan Bajo

On your final day, you’ll enjoy breakfast and perhaps a cup of traditional coffee before saying goodbye to the Wae Rebo community. From the village, you’ll return on foot to Denge and continue by vehicle toward Lembor.

One of the cultural highlights of this return journey is the visit to the Spiderweb Rice Fields — a unique rice-field pattern created by the local Lingko agricultural system, offering fantastic photo opportunities. Your journey then concludes with a scenic drive back to Labuan Bajo, where the tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
