Komodo National Park isn’t just home to the legendary Komodo dragon—this rugged archipelago in eastern Indonesia also offers one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences for reptile and amphibian enthusiasts. The Komodo Snake Herping/Spotlighting Tour takes you deep into the wild heart of this UNESCO-listed natural wonder, combining daytime exploration, nocturnal spotlighting, trekking, and marine adventures into an unforgettable 3-day journey.
What Is Herping & Spotlighting?
Herping refers to the search for reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats. In Komodo National Park, herping focuses on observing, documenting, and learning about fascinating cold-blooded animals—from highly venomous snakes and elusive pit vipers to burrowing species and aquatic reptiles. Spotlighting is herping after dark with high-powered torches to find nocturnal species that hide during the day.
