Supporting organizations included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI) NTT &amp; West Manggarai<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Manggarai Barat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dinas Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Manggarai Barat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trash Hero<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stella Maria Tourism Vocational High School, Labuan Bajo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wae Kelambu Subdistrict Government<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dozens of tourism students and local youth actively participated, demonstrating that <strong>sustainable tourism in Labuan Bajo starts with environmental awareness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Early Morning Clean-Up Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants gathered at the Komodo Subdistrict Office yard at <strong>6:30 AM<\/strong>, where organizers distributed gloves, sacks, and garbage bags. The volunteers were divided into five teams before beginning the clean-up route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The waste collection started from the Komodo Subdistrict Office, continued along the Trans-Flores main road in front of the Tourism Office, passed through the Perundi complex and the court alley, and ended at <strong>Pantai Pede<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plastic waste was the most dominant type of trash found scattered along road shoulders and drainage areas. At the end of the activity, volunteers successfully collected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>38 sacks of waste<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Total weight: 200 kilograms<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This achievement highlights both the environmental challenge and the collective effort required to maintain cleanliness in Labuan Bajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commitment to Sustainable Tourism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In his opening speech, Viktor Pance, Chairman of DPD HPI NTT, encouraged participants to become pioneers in environmental protection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cLet us all become individuals who consistently care for the environment by not damaging nature and by disposing of waste in designated areas, so that the city we live in remains clean, beautiful, and attractive\u2014not only for ourselves but also for tourists visiting Labuan Bajo.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebastian Pandang, Chairman of DPC HPI Manggarai Barat, also expressed appreciation to the government, students, and tourism actors for their active involvement.
